Well…you’ve heard it. I’m sure you have. Shocking, wasn’t it? After a few years we were able to move on, bomb explosions shook our lives again, here, in Jakarta. We thought we were quite safe, but they didn’t want to let us think that way. They wanted to show us that they were still powerful, that they could bring us down…
Nobody claimed responsible for this act. Everybody guesses, everybody speculates. We are curious, we are confused; who did this? How could it happen in such hotels which have layered protection?
Humanity has lost its meaning for some people. How can humans treat their fellow humans so violently as such? Where are their hearts?
My question now is, how can we prevent this act? How can we educate people, especially young people who have idealism, intelligence and passion to be open minded and caring persons? How can we teach them that there will always be different perspectives, different ways of seeing things? How can we make them see that other people can also be right, despite of how different they are? How can we teach them to solve problems by peaceful means?
I hope and pray that someday we can have a peaceful world, a world in which we can live harmoniously…
